Volunteer Opportunities
The Reservoir Committee of the Envision Arlington Environmental Task Group is a group of concerned citizen volunteers working to solve the Reservoir's problems. The Committee meets on the third Tuesday of the month, Usually on-line. Anyone with an interest in the Reservoir is welcome to participate. Request an invitation using the contact page linked above.
The Reservoir Committee is constituted to Preserve and Treasure the Natural Aspects of the Reservoir:
- Install and maintain wildlife habitat gardens to Support native species.
- Assure that planning and development at the Reservoir are in harmony with the environment.
- Provide opportunities for education about native ecology and the effects of invasive species.
- Encourage community well-being through enjoyment of the natural environment.
- Work to control invasive species.

INDIVIDUAL OPPORTUNITIES
Reservoir Committee is seeking
Events Coordinator- Oversee volunteers or volunteer groups in invasive species work, work in the native habitat garden, trash clean ups.
Secretary- Take notes at our monthly meeting Third Tuesday of the month and help with the annual write up of the committee or reports
Garden Designer- Native plant garden design, plant choice, acquisition
Social Media Coordinator – Post information about the Reservoir events to various outlets Facebook, NextDoor, Meetup etc.
RESERVOIR HABITAT GARDEN
As part of our work we will add a walk around the Reservoir and clean up for any group interested. We like to reduce trash left in and around the Res.
INVASIVE PLANT REMOVAL
This is routinely done from 8-9am on the Saturday after the third Tuesday. During certain seasons we will have longer activities or actives targeting a specific variety of species
Water Chestnut: Hop in a canoe, kayak or just get a rack and remove invasive water chestnut from the Arlington Reservoir.
Bittersweet: Join us for a community volunteer event to remove invasive Bittersweet vines
Annual Garlic Mustard Pull in May.

MyRWA VISUAL TRASH
Help us get a big picture of the trash problem in our watershed by performing a visual assessment of litter on the street! Have one-hour? Register for a route here.
We depend on volunteers to help us attain these goals. We have had volunteers from as close as Lexington and as far as Connecticut.
Clearing invasive species and planting native ones stakes diligence and dedication.
